Alicia Kozameh. Memory, representation and literature.

lecture

Alicia Kozameh (Argentina, 1953) will be at the University of Limerick as part of the seminars organized by the research group “UL Research Group in Contemporary Hispanic Studies” to talk about the process of writing. Afterwards she will give a reading of her book “Pasos bajo el agua” where she fictionalises her experiences, and those of her colleagues, in prison.

Alicia’s book has been translated into various languages and is proof of the need to use literature in an attempt to reconstruct personal identity and to assimilate the past. She has also published “Patas de avestruz”, “Basse danse” and “259 saltos, uno inmortal”. Her last novel has been translated into English, “259 Leaps, the Last Inmortal”, by Wings Press, Texas, in the Spring of 2006.
