The Cervantes Chapel is founded under the auspices of Instituto Cervantes Dublin. Unique in Ireland, the choir is specialized in the Spanish and Latin American choral repertoire and the repertoire of other Spanish composers.
The objectives of the choir are the divulgence of the polyphonic repertoire of the Spanish Golden Age and choral works of the twentieth century in particular, and of the Spanish language in general. After the rehersals (to be organized in weekends), the choir will offer at least one concert per year.
Choir Director: Eligio Luis Quinteiro (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Islas Canarias).
At the age of eleven, he gave his first concert with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Gran Canaria. He studied classical guitar and get the degree of Superior Teacher of Guitar and Vihuela in 1993. After studying lute and theorbo at the Regional Conservatory of Music in Toulouse, in 1997 he moved to London, where he studied choral and orchestral direction. Currently, he is artistic director of the groups Capilla Cayrasco and Camerata Cayrasco, he gives solo recitals and accompanies songs with the tiorba and guitar and he is a member of numerous groups as a specialist in bas. He has been guest professor at the Royal College of Music in London and the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, among others.
