Hack your Bank. A workshop about creativity, technology and economy.

workshop

Hack your Bank is a workshop designed by Derivart.

Derivart produces pieces of work associated with the main problems affecting the Spanish State at present. The economic crisis hitting Spain is amongst the most severe problems. Citizens mainly blame politicians and bankers for the economic instability. Hack your Bank offers a vision of the banks by creating a tool which enhances financial education, while becoming a protest weapon.

Hack your bank is a project in continuous development. It is a digital tool created with citizens’ input through their participation in specific workshops and by Internet, which allows them to participate at any time. The first part of the project aims to unveil the irregularities and scandals involving diverse Spanish banks. By using Firefox add-on features, participants can create animated GIFs to tell stories that lie beneath the world of banking.

The result: when Hack your Bank add-on is installed, every time you access a bank´s website, a number of animated characters will come up to show you in an entertaining and satirical way a wider vision of the reality of that particular bank.

Requirements: bring your own laptop.
