Andrés Jaque en conversación con Emmett Scanlon y Sarah Cremin
El indudable auge de la arquitectura española, su presencia internacional y su extensión a nuestras formas de vida ha convertido a la arquitectura en un área de conversación y relevancia cotidiana. Fresh-air-kitecture nos acercará a la creación, filosofía y principios de una joven generación de arquitectos que está trabajando de forma activa e innovadora.
Andrés Jaque dirige la oficina Andrés Jaque Arquitectos y la plataforma de pensamiento asociada Oficina de Innovacion Política, ambas comprometidas con la exploración de la dimensión política de la arquitectura y el papel que puede llegar a jugar en la institucionalización social del día a día. La oficina administra el sello
de calidad ARQUITECTURA PARLAMENTO ® y ofrece servicios de anfitrionazgo público (techno geishas), redes de urbanismo boca a boca (tupper homes), planes de transparencia (12 acciones para transparentar las obras de la ciudad de la cultura, pum-pum, radio mundo) o edificios a los que dan ganas de abrazar (casa en never never land, teddy house). Sus otras propuestas son mouse city, democratic sponge, peace foam city, que forman parte del proyecto Espumas Democráticas. En la actualidad desarrollan la investigación rolling house for the rolling society. El trabajo de la oficina ha sido premiado en varios prestigiosos concursos, presentado en revistas y publicaciones internacionales. Andrés Jaque ha sido invitado a dar conferencias y ha sido profesor en numerosas universidades y escuelas.
Emmet Scanlon y Sarah Cremin establecieron CAST arquitecture en 2006. Son los corresponsales irlandeses de A10, la revista New European Arquitecture, y contribuyen regularmente en revistas y publicaciones internacionales. Los dos son graduados en University College Dublin como licenciados y con un máster en arquitectura. Emmet da clases en UCD desde 1999 y fue elegido profesor de Arquitectura en 2006. Sarah da clases actualmente en la Escuela de Arquitectura. Emmet fue elegido Consejero de Arquitectura del Arts Council en 2006. Ahora mismo dirige un proyecto de investigación sobre compromiso público a través de Architecture in Ireland.
Fresh air-kitecture
Andrés Jaque in conversation with Emmett Scanlon and Sarah Cremin
The unquestionable boom of Spanish architecture, its international presence and its impact on our ways of living has turned it into a common subject. Fresh-air-kitecture will bring us closer to the creation, philosophy and principles of a younger generation whose work is active and innovative.
Andrés Jaque directs the architecture studio Andrés Jaque Arquitectos and the think-tank Office for Political Innovation which explore the political dimension of architecture and the role it plays in the making of societies. The office has developed the first seal of democratic quality for architectural actions: ARQUITECTURA PARLAMENTO ®. The office has won numerous awards and has been presented in several international architecture magazines and publications. Andrés Jaque has taught and lectured in a number of universities around the world. Among the products the office manage are technogeishas (ultimate entertainer of contemporary city), tupper homes (an alternative to the strategic official urbanism), “12 Actions to Make the City of Culture Transparent, pum-pum, radio mundo, or buildings that one feels like hugging, casa en never never land, teddy house. Later projects involve mouse city, democratic sponge, peace foam city, rolling house for the rolling society.
Emmett Scanlon and Sarah Cremin established CAST architecture in 2006. They are the Irish correspondents for A10, the journal for New European Architecture, and regular contributors to national and international magazines and journals. Both graduated from University College Dublin with BArch and MScArch degrees. Emmet has been teaching in UCD since 1999 and was appointed Lecturer in Architecture in 2006. Sarah currently teaches design in the School of Architecture. Emmet was appointed Architectural Adviser to the Arts Council in 2006. He is currently managing a research project into Public Engagement with Architecture in Ireland on their behalf.

 Los sucesores de García Márquez, Fuentes y Cortázar se reunieron hace un par de años en Bogotá para debatir sobre el futuro de la literatura hispanoamericana. Este mes los traemos a nuestra biblioteca. Se trata de autores como Andrés Neuman, Ena Lucía Portela, Juan Gabriel Vásquez, Santiago Roncagliolo, Álvaro Enrigue, Guadalupe Nettel o Jorge Volpi, entre otros. Forman un panorama de voces polifónicas y sin complejos que se despliega desde México a Argentina.

The successors of García Márquez, Fuentes and Cortázar convened in Bogotá, Colombia, a few years ago to debate the future of Hispano-American literature. This month, it’s the library’s turn, with authors such as Andrés Neuman, Ena Lucía Portela, Juan Gabriel Vásquez, Santiago Roncagliolo, Álvaro Enrique, Guadalupe Nettel, and Jorge Volpi, amongst others. Together they form a panorama of many and varied voices, free from labels and stigmas, which stretches from Mexico right down to Argentina. |
