El videoclip español vive un resurgir, propiciado por el esfuerzo de pequeñas productoras que desde la independencia ofrecen piezas innovadoras y de calidad que beben del arte contemporáneo y experimental.
El ciclo se compone de una veintena de piezas audiovisuales, escogidas entre la producción más reciente del video musical experimental español, en la que destacan jóvenes realizadores como Luis Cerveró, Marc Lozano, Nicolás Mendez, o Kike Maíllo; autores de algunos videos emblemáticos que han sabido trasladar a imágenes el espíritu de bandas como RUSSIAN RED, MARLANGO, MANOS DE TOPO, o CHRISTINA ROSENVINGE Y NACHO VEGAS.


Spanish video clip re-emerges thanks to the effort of small production companies that on gaining independence started offering valuable innovative pieces inspired by contemporary and xperimental art.
Composed of some twenty pieces, it is a selection from the most recent Spanish production in experimental musical video. Featuring young producers like Luis Cerveró, Marc Lozano, Nicolás Mendez or Kilke Maíllo, authors of some emblematic videos that through images evoke the spirit of groups like RUSSIAN RED, MARLANGO, MANOS DE TOPO or CHRISTINA ROSENVINGE and NACHO VEGAS.

Las fotografías de esta exposición son una muestra del rico patrimonio que guarda el Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales en su archivo y pertenecen a la última gran expedición española del siglo XIX: la Comisión científica del Pacífico, 1862-66.

The photographs in this exhibition are but a sample of the rich collection housed in the archives of Spain’s National Museum of Natural Sciences, here documenting the last great Spanish expedition of the 19th century: the Scientific Commission of the Pacific, 1862-66.

Como cocinero y empresario teatral, Armando Risotto nos cocina un festín de teatro inspirado en la variedad de los espectáculos de antaño. Usando solo los mejores ingredientes, se nos presenta con una variedad de artistas de circo y cabaret para chuparse los dedos. (¡Esté atento a la rifa del tradicional jamón español!).

As a chef and impresario, Armando Risotto cooks us a feast of theatre inspired by the variety shows of old. Using only the best of ingredients he presents us with a mouth-watering mixture of circus and cabaret performers. (Watch out for the traditional Spanish Ham Raffle!).

Tabola Rassa: Moliere's 'The Miser'

En esta adaptación de “El avaro” de Moliere, ya no es el dinero lo que todo el mundo codicia, sino el agua. Los protagonistas de esta comedia visionaria se convierten en grifos (en ocasiones vestidos con un simple trapo), tuberías y mangueras…recipientes de todo tipo…

In this adaptation of Moliere’s ‘The Miser’, it is no longer money that everyone covets, but water. The protagonists of this visionary comedy become taps (at times dressed with a simple cloth), pipes and hoses... containers of every kind.

A play about an idea for a film yet to be made. Director and filmmaker Gerardo Naumann wants to make a film based on an unknown woman’s diary he found. Using a local cast of 20 extras, the stage becomes a platform to experiment with and test out his new film concept tentatively titled “Uruguay”. It’s a peculiar premise, and inherently exciting: watch the genesis of a film created in a theatre and edge against the boundaries of documenting someone elses privacy. Can a play be useful? Or rather, shouldn't a play be useful?

Con más de diecinueve mil registros, el diccionario en un valioso recurso para cualquier persona interesada en ambos idiomas, tanto en Irlanda como en todo el mundo de habla hispana. Aparte de dar el significado de las diferentes palabras, se da una rica variedad de la gramática del irlandés y una lista de proverbios que son paralelos en las dos lenguas.
Este diccionario formará parte de la presencia cultural irlandesa en el mundo hispánico y ciertamente en los Estados Unidos de América. Es la primera vez que se vincule el español con una lengua celta. Éste es un importante paso en la lexicografía del español. El diccionario aparece en un momento en que el irlandés ya ha sido declarado un idioma oficial de trabajo de la Unión Europea. La presencia del irlandés en la lista de lenguas de la Comunidad crea nuevas demandas para un apoyo lexicográfico para quienes lo interpretan y traducen a otras lenguas.

With more than 19,000 entries, this dictionary is a valuable resource for all those interested in both languages, in Ireland and throughout the Spanish-speaking world. Apart from providing the words’ meanings, it also gives a rich variety of Irish grammar, plus a list of proverbs paralleled in both languages. This dictionary will become a key component of Ireland’s cultural presence within the Spanish-speaking world, and without a doubt, in the United States. This is the first time the Spanish language has been linked to a Celtic language, and as such, should be regarded as a very important step within Spanish lexicography. The timing is also important in that it is coming on board at a time when Irish has been declared an official working language of the European Union. The presence of Irish within the lists of the Community’s languages will create new demands for support in terms of lexicography for all those interpreting and translating to or from other languages.
