Four-week course focusing on theoretical and practical tuition in
Introduction to Sevillanas
Taught by Nathalie Moyano González
Sevillanas is a traditional Andalusian folk dance, danced in couples. It is comprised of four distinct parts, or coplas, each of which has its own choreography. Once learned they can be danced to any number of musical accompaniments, even between people who have never danced together before.
Sevillanas share some basic style and technique with flamenco, such as arm movements, simple footwork and turns. As such it is often used as an introduction to flamenco dance, and interested students can then decide to take their studies further.
